Nahas: STL funding to be discussed under calm atmosphere

Economy Minister Nicolas Nahas said Monday that “the cabinet’s differences on whether to fund the STL or whether the provision of funds should be from a source that does not fall under the cabinet’s control are only hypotheses.” Nahas added that this “hypothetical topic” is out of context and is being discussed by all parties under a calm atmosphere.

As for the electricity plan, Nahas told Voice of Lebanon that the electricity draft law has risen above the disputes and was signed by all concerned parties, including the energy minister, adding that the draft law will soon be submitted to the parliament.

Commenting on the appointment issue, Nahas said that a certain mechanism is underway but “might take a while, which is very normal”, highlighting the importance that each minister comes up with suggestions related to his ministry.
