The test is tomorrow in the parliamentary committee meeting, either EDL contract workers will be granted tenure, or the draft law will be put again on table to be discussed.

Speaker Nabih Berri seemed to be ready to retreat, but will remain loyal to the constitution, as he stated during Wednesday’s parliamentary meeting: “there is no doubt that constitutional paths to follow through the issue of EDL contract workers exist”.

As to Bkirki’s position regarding this issue, in a statement issued after its meeting, it said that the way decisions were made inside the Parliament led to a new unwanted gap between parties.

On the Syrian level, a diplomatic event will take place on Friday in Paris, where more than one hundred western and Arab states will be meeting to increase pressure on the Syrian regime to implement Geneva’s plan.

Today, turkey announced that it had found the bodies of both pilots of the jet shot down by Syria last month.
