Geagea: assassination attempts impede the formation of a viable state

Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea said on Thursday that the March 14 coalition is targeted on a permanent basis, noting that “we should not undermine the assassination attempts targeting March 14 members.”During a press conference held in Meerab, Geagea regretted Parliaments weak reaction to MP Boutros Harb’s assassination attempt.

“Is it normal that security apparatuses could not reveal anything regarding assassination attempts targeting March 14 leaders, while one person gets arrested for just contacting his aunt in Afghanistan?” Geagea asked.

“There is someone who is preventing the formation of a State through these assassination attempts” Geagea added, holding the cabinet responsible for the attempt against Harb.

In his concluding remarks, Geagea noted that “ Parliament should not continue with this performance, after what happened during the last legislative session”.
