Berri, Burns meet
House Speaker Nabih Berri received Friday at Ain El-Tineh the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns accompanied by the U.S. ambassador to Lebanon, Maura Connelly.

Berri received a letter from the leadership of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas and the leadership of the Palestinian-Lebanese alliance, whereby they praised the efforts exerted in support of the Palestinian cause in general and the issues of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon in particular.

Palestinians voiced keenness on Lebanon's civil peace and willingness to participate in the launching of the Lebanese-Palestinian dialogue to address the overall situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

On a different note, Speaker Berri met with Sidon's municipality Head Muhammad Al-Saudi, the Head of Sidon's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muhammad Saleh, and the representative of Sidon Industrialists Association, Muhammad Jajazi, with talks touching on the city's unanimous rejection to the sit-in by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir and to his verbal attack against the Speaker.

The delegation apologized on behalf of Sidon residents, confirming that cutting off roads is totally unacceptable.
