Charbel to LBCI: We hope that Koura’s by-election portrays democracy

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel announced on Saturday that all technical and security preparations for the Koura’s by-election are ready, adding that the registrars have received the ballot boxes.

Charbel told Nharkom Said on LBCI that Koura is a symbol of democracy, adding that no problem will likely rise Sunday despite the plurality of parties in the region.

“We did not contact any of the parties”, he stressed, voicing hope that tomorrow will be a "day of democracy".

In his concluding remarks, Charbel explained that voters will have to submit their ID or passport, adding that a complaint section will be made available in the ministry to handle all related issues.
