Abou Faour slams attacks against Mikati

Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour said Wednesday that “there is no political dispute with Hezbollah”, adding that the statement aired on Manar TV station holds no premeditated political intentions.

Commenting on the statement of Change and Reform bloc Leader MP Michel Aoun put forth Tuesday following his bloc's weekly meeting, Abou Faour said that “Aoun always takes unilateral positions”, adding that “attacking PM Najib Mikati is pointless for he did not commit any mistake”.

Abou Faour elaborated: “The attack against Mikati as well as the indirect attacks against The National Struggle Front are unjustified”, adding that the people expect from the current cabinet to be united and not to bring about new disputes every day.

On the issue of the STL funding, Abou Faour said: “The media debate has preceded the political one”, adding that “until now the matter has not been discussed seriously."
