General Security: Decision to deport 14 Syrians based on their criminal acts
The General Security directorate announced on Thursday that its decision to deport the 14 Syrian nationals was based on criminal acts and violations they committed during their stay in Lebanon.

The directorate added in a statement that any decision to deport Syrian nationals, Arab or foreigners, is based on their judicial and security records that adhere to standards provided for by international and regional agreements and treaties. The directorate added the above does not apply to those who might face any threats in their homeland if deported.

In this context, a heated debate erupted during the cabinet session over the General Security’s deportation of the 14 Syrians without the knowledge of political authority.
