Aoun calls on Jabal’s residents to "reconnect with their roots"

FPM leader, MP Michel Aoun called on the residents of Shouf, Aley and Upper Metn on Monday to unite under the wings of Virgin Mary and turn the Assumption of Mary Day into an annual tradition that brings back faith into Jabal.

In his letter to Jabal’s residents, Aoun said that during their displacement, the residents of Jabbal sacrificed a lot more than their lands and livelihood. They have offered unity, descent living, cherished memories and unforgettable traditions, he stressed.

Aoun added: “It’s about time we go back to our roots and enliven our holidays with our children, in Jabal, in our local churches, sharing the joy of the holiday and the pleasure of uniting with relatives and neighbors. Let the Assumption of Mary holiday mark the beginning.” A

oun reiterated his call on Jabal’s residents to build a memorial in their villages to commemorate all martyrs who passed away in Jabal, regardless of their political and religious affiliations.
