Charbel warns against blocking airport road

Interior Minister, Marwan Charbel, denounced on Friday the wave of kidnappings and counter-kidnappings sweeping Lebanon which “have seriously affected the security situation in the country”.

Charbel confirmed “we should act rationally and wisely under the critical phase that the region is going through”.

In a statement to “Voice of Lebanon – freedom and dignity”, Charbel stressed the importance of placing the airport road under the control of security forces to prevent further protests.

“There will be no political immunity for those blocking the roads”, he stressed.

Charbel revealed that the Lebanese Central Security Council’s meeting will discuss means to control the airport road. He said: “No one will be allowed to block the airport road from hereon after, no matter the reason”.
