Zgheib urges Turks to solve Lebanese abductees issue
Sheikh Abbas Zgheib, appointed by the Supreme Islamic Shi'ite Council to follow up on the case of the Lebanese abductees in Syria, considered Saturday that the role of “Abu Ibrahim” and that of the Turkish intelligence have been uncovered. Zgheib found it strange how some countries are calling on the Syrian regime to grant freedom to its people at a time when they support the abductors of the Lebanese pilgrims.

In a press conference, Zgheib said that the abduction of Turkish nationals in Lebanon was a reaction, calling on the Turkish ambassador to Lebanon to solve the issue of the Lebanese abductees first, before moving to that of the Turks in Lebanon. “When the Lebanese abductees’ case is solved, the issue of the Turkish kidnapped is automatically solved”, he said.

Zgheib held the Turkish state and the Syrian opposition responsible for the 11 Lebanese men and for “every drop of blood.” He called on Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France, the U.K. and the U.S. to move before “having guests in Lebanon themselves”.

Zgheib stressed that any attempt to harm Syrian nationals in Lebanon would be an attack against the Lebanese abductees’ relatives, urging all those affiliated to the Free Syrian Army to leave Lebanon.
