Cabinet session held in Beiteddine

The Cabinet held a session at the summer presidential residence in Beiteddine in the Chouf area under the chairmanship of President Michel Aoun.

During the session, the Cabinet decided to appoint defense attorneys to represent the Lebanese state in the US, to be assigned by the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank.

The Cabinet also agreed on Lebanon’s symbolic participation in the peacekeeping mission upon the request of the Ministry of Defense.

This as Minister of Finance Ali Hassan Khalil called for dealing “responsibly with the downgrade of Lebanon's credit rating.”

"Lebanon's rating is related to the interest of the state," he said.
