Introduction to the evening news 19-08-2012
Everyone seems to have committed to the “Eid’s truce”, from officials to military councils, to clans and families. In fact, no abduction was carried out today in tribute to Eid al-Fitr. However, the Eid’s holiday will end tomorrow and will not include Tuesday, unlike expectations. In fact, the cabinet’s Secretary General Suhail Bouji announced that Tuesday will be a normal working day.

Separately, there is some kind of a race between the efforts exerted by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim, and the orders of “kidnapping units” in the Lebanese clan’s military councils. While Minister Charbel voiced his optimism and decided to go back to Turkey after the holidays, mid-next week, the Mokdad family members are separating between the 11 Lebanese abductees’ case and their son Hassan al-Mokdad, and instead of linking the Turkish kidnapped case to that of the 11 Lebanese hostages, they are linking the Turkish abductees’ case to Hassan al-Mokdad’s.

In Syria, Syrian president appeared performing Eid prayers in a Damascus mosque on Sunday, his first appearance in public since the bombing of the National Security’s headquarters last month.

Before diving into this evening’s bulletin, we must note that businessman Raja al-Zuhayri has been released, three days after his abduction. According to information made available to LBCI, the million-dollar ransom requested by the abductors was not paid.
