Salameh: BDL’s foreign currency reserves increased
Banque Du Liban Governor Riyad Salameh announced on Friday the increase of BDL’s foreign currency reserves (excluding gold) by approximately US $ 1.4 billion in the second half of August 2019, to amount at the end of this month to US $ 38.660 billion (except for the  gold).
The increase comes as a result of the direct inflow of deposits directly to the BDL from the non-resident private sector (not from international countries or entities), which reflects the trust of depositors, enhances the trust in the Lebanese Lira and contributes to reducing the balance of payments deficit.
