Hostage follow-up committee highlights ongoing efforts

Labor Minister Salim Jreissati confirmed on Tuesday that the committee tasked with following up on the issue of the 11 Lebanese hostages in Syria was briefed by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel on the outcomes of his recent visit to Turkey.

The committee was also informed of the contacts led by Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour in those regards, the minister added.

Jeissati pointed out that the committee has agreed during its meeting on future steps to be taken by each of the interior and foreign ministries.

Jreissati pointed out that “silent communications” will continue until concrete results are reached, confirming that the committee will convene next Friday.
