Syrian shelling hits Akkar

Regions in Al-Muqaibleh and Bekaeya in Akkar were exposed to overnight shelling from the Syrian side of the border causing severe damage to commercial premises.

Artillery shell fire lasted over 45 minutes according to reports with heavy fire and explosions landing West in Wadi Khaled and surrounding towns and villages.

Residents fled their homes seeking refuge away from the line of fire.
