Gemayel: Apostolic Exhortation holds principles that must be adhered to

President Amin Gemayel considered that Pope Benedict XVI visit to Lebanon holds various messages in it pointing that it is a visit of hope to the Lebanese people and the whole region; "it is a visit to renounce extremism and call for peace and dialogue," he said.

During a call with LBCI, President Gemayel stated that there has been a grave failure in achieving the first Apostolic Exhortation allocated to Lebanon. "The Apostolic Exhortation involved principals and important road-maps that should be applied", Gemayel added.

Gemayel explained that the Apostolic Exhortation is comprehensive and may be applied on the entire region. He also pointed that the Kataeb party called for the Pope's appeals to the Lebanese people, and Christians of the Middle East, and was the first to call for dialogue.
