Qortbawi: Prison issue is a perennial crisis

Justice Minister Shakib Qortbawi highlighted Friday the importance of settling the prisons’ issue that he described as a perennial crisis.

Qortbawi told Voice of Lebanon that many issues should be dealt with, starting with the lack of prison guards, which “could easily be resolved if politicians didn’t have so many body guards.”

Qortbawi also called for moving quickly on constructing the new building at Roumieh prison, as well as the trial of Fatah al-Islam members.
