95-year-old Eugenie opens a Facebook account

95-year-old Eugenie never thought she would be able to have video calls with her relatives who have been abroad for more than 50 years.

Eugenie, who hails from the town of Andaket in Akkar, told An-Nahar Daily on Thursday that she is so happy to see her beloved ones when she thought she would never see them again. “The Internet is a blessing”, she said.

With the help of her grandchildren who taught her how to use the laptop, Eugenie sits on her wheelchair every day at specific times and discovers new things.

“Tomorrow, I will open Facebook and Twitter accounts; kids’ toys have now become useful”, she said.
