Hostage Bassel al-Mayss escapes abductors 2 days after his kidnap
Hostage Bassel al-Mayss managed to escape his abductors on Monday morning and headed to his home in the Bekaa town of Makseh.

He then accompanied security forces and members of the press to show them the location where he was being kept during the past two days.

Gunmen kidnapped al-Mayss from outside his house overnight Saturday to Sunday in the town of Makseh while on his way back from a wedding with his wife. He was detained in a grotto in the Shouf town of Ain Dara. Al-Mayss reportedly fled through Dahr al Baydar and managed to reach his house.

The Directorate General of Army Command mentioned that following the kidnapping of Muhammad Bassel el-Mayss, the intelligence directorate launched a series of investigations that helped in indentifying the identities of the kidnappers.

Upon these investigations, kidnappers left el-Mayss in a cave in Dahr el-Baydar and fled to an unknown destination.

Investigations were launched to determine the whereabouts of those involved in the incident to refer them to the relevant court.

In another incident, citizen Ali Ahmad Mansour was released on $600,000 ransom.
