Sleiman assures Lebanon's stability and security

President of the Lebanese Republic Michel Sleiman continued to highlight Lebanon's sound and robust political, security and monetary situation in his tour of some of the South American states.          

In his last leg of tour in Argentina, the president insisted in his speech that there is no fear on the future of Lebanon, noting that the country is still seen as the hospital and university of the Middle East.             

The President reminded his audience that Lebanon has paid a heavy and dear price to uphold freedom and democracy and also touched on the last visit of the Holy See to Lebanon.

           
He added that since 2008 and following the turmoil that engulfed the country and the defeat of Israel in 2006, Lebanon has gradually started to regain its position in the world.

                
Sleiman also stressed that Lebanon has met all its obligations such as holding the elections on time and passing all the decrees and laws according to the time frames set by the constitution.              

He called on the Lebanese expatriates to register their names in the embassies in order to take part in the next parliamentary elections in Lebanon.                     

At the end of his speech, Sleiman was awarded an honorary doctorate from the President of Buenos Aires University amid standing ovation from the audience.
