Bkerke sources:No current arrangements for Rai-Nasrallah meeting

Bkerke sources told “Acharq al-Awsat” newspaper that the Maronite Church is not currently in preparation for a meeting between Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai and Hezbollah Secretary General, but that such an event could take place.

Bkerke sources were surprised to see that some perceived Patriarch Rai’s participation in the spiritual summit held Tuesday in Dar al Fatwa as an attempt to justify himself and explain his latest positions. “This is a summit marked by honesty and understanding”, they said.

“When he addressed the participants at the beginning of the summit, Patriarch Rai touched on several issues, including his visit to France and the pastoral visit to the U.S. he is expected to carry out early next month.”
