Rai: New Cabinet is required to draw a rescue plan

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai said on Monday that the new Cabinet is required to draw a rescue plan.

Rai’s comments were made during the opening session of the Synod in which he noted that efforts of all ministries and syndicates must be coordinated in order to fight Coronavirus.

He also called for implementing the necessary reforms to address the economic and financial crisis as well as the electricity crisis, the rampant corruption and the independence of the judiciary and “then work on restructuring the power in accordance with the Constitution.”
