Berri calls for setting in motion oil exploration
Speaker Nabih Berri called for setting in motion oil exploration, refusing to succumb to the reality that Lebanon will be prohibited from exercising its legal right to explore its 860 km2 Maritime Economic Zone for oil.

During Wednesday’s parliamentary meeting, Berri praised the spiritual Christian-Muslim Summit held in Dar El Fatwa and the visit paid by Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai to the South.

Berri said that no legislative session will be held any time soon because he will be out of the country.

Berri attached great importance to the project of establishing a Palestinian state, voicing fears that the U.S. will veto the Palestinian bid for statehood and warning against its repercussions on the region.
