Hariri to CNN: If I were the current PM, I would've stood against Assad's regime

Former PM Saad Hariri told CNN on Friday that President Bashar Assad was behind the assassination of police Information Branch chief Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan, stressing that if he were the current Prime Minister, he would’ve stood against this regime.

Hariri added that Hassan was murdered for uncovering a bomb blot in which pro-Syrian Former Minister Michel Samaha was involved. According to Hariri, “Assad’s regime was sending a threatening message to the Lebanese people through Ashrafieh’s blast.”

Hariri stressed that the Syrian revolution has his utmost support and predicted that "the Syrian regime will surely fall and that the Syrian people will finally choose a new president for their country."
