Rai from Milan calls for restraint and calm

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai reiterated on Sunday his call on all Lebanese political officials and the Lebanese people "to restrain and wisely interpret the assassination of Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan," calling on them to hold dialogue in order to take appropriate positions and measures.

During a mass he headed at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Milan, Italy, Rai said that "it is time for the Lebanese officials to take a historical stance, avoiding destructive positions and looking for ways to avoid political void and chaos." He stressed that "no one can take away Lebanon's role as an example for peace and stability in the region".
