Sleiman: Israel blew peace talks
President Michel Sleiman described the Israeli plan to build 1100 new settlements in West Bank as a clear blow to peace efforts in the Middle East and contrary to Quartet decisions and international resolutions.

Sleiman met with the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Michael Williams to discuss the current the situation in the South, as well as the collaboration between the UNIFIL forces and the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to implement the 1701 resolution.

The commander of the LAF General Jean Kahwaji briefed Sleiman on the current security situation in the country as well the progress of equipping the army before his visit to the United States to discuss further military aid.

President Sleiman met with Minister Nicolas Fattoush, Minister Riad Rahhal, former minister Youssef Saleme and former PM Wajih Baarini.
