Fatfat to LBCI: Jumblatt’s interests supersede principles

Future MP Ahmad Fatfat considered the latest stance of National Struggle Front leader MP Walid Jumblatt as "opportunistic", adding that the latter’s principles are "shaky".

“His interests lay with supporting the government, although he himself accused it of providing a cover for the assassination of late Brig. Gen. Wissam Hassan.”

Speaking to LBCI via Nharkom Said on Friday, Fatfat said, “we will see where his [Jumblatt] stances will take him, and whether they will provide a cover for Syria’s allies in Lebanon.”

In regards to the Jeddah meeting, Fatfat stressed that the Future bloc has yet to take any decisions prior to consulting political allies.

On boycotting parliament, Fatfat said that March 14 rejects to participate in all governmental sessions, however will discuss whether or not to join in the talks pertaining to the discussions of the electoral law.

Fatfat called for the formation of a neutral government, given that the “national unity government proved failure.”
