Gemayel: Lebanon needs real stability

Deputy Amine Gemayel said that political constancy and security stability are absolute priorities that may not be achieved in the presence of a cabinet that is inflaming the situation and aggravating the clashes between the political parties.

After meeting with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs Elizabeth Jones and the American ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly at his residence in Bekfaya, Gemayel said that Lebanon needs real stability that assures the rights of the citizens and institutions.

He pointed out that March14 took in their political document the first and basic step that makes the cabinet’s resignation a must.

Regarding March14’s boycott to the national dialogue chaired by the Lebanese President, Gemayel said that this topic was not mentioned in their political document, but they will be working to topple the cabinet knowing that it forms a threat on the political, security, and economic levels.
