Gemayel meets UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon

The leader of the Kataeb party Samy Gemayel met on Thursday with the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka on an acquaintance visit.

During their meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

Gemayel emphasized the need for parliamentary elections to take place in time stressing on the essential role the United Nations must play to exert pressure for respecting constitutional deadlines and ensuring international supervision of the voting process.

That is to ensure the fairness of results, to preserve Lebanon's democracy and the Lebanese's right to choose their representatives away from any pressure that the regime can impose to prevent change and to maintain its stronghold over the country.
