US Department of State urges Saudi Arabia to communicate with Lebanese government
US Department of State spokesman Samuel Warberg stressed on Saturday that "US sanctions are not randomly imposed without accurate information and deep research, as the evidence is available in a statement on the US Treasury website in both Arabic and English."

"The Lebanese people who took to the streets are the ones who demanded accountability for this corruption, and for the lack of respect of the rule of law, not only the international community. The sanctions are aimed at solidarity with the Lebanese," he said in a television interview.

"The United States urges Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and countries in the region to communicate with the Lebanese government," he added.

He pointed out that "the US government is working with the International community to secure support for the Lebanese government, and we expect transparency and accountability from it."
