CDL contract workers come out victorious

CDL contract workers and the casino's management reached an agreement, whereby the workers will be granted permanent tenure in two batches, in the years 2015 and 2016. The agreement includes signing new 3-year contracts until permanent tenure is granted.

The contract will be tripartite; between the employee, the Abela catering company and CDL.

In this context, the management at CDL urged all employees to return to performing their duties within the next 48 hours, or otherwise lose all prospect of being signed for a new contract.

Protests over the issue of the CDL contract workers began as of the 31st of October 2012 when several employees took to the streets to express their discontent in regards to their current situation at the company.

They say that all of them hold university degrees, and their one mission is to conduct the games at the casino, stressing that Casino Du Liban's actual profits are the result of their hard work and exploitation.
