Mikati on an official visit to Egypt
Prime Minister Najib Mikati left Beirut on Thursday morning for Cairo, on an official visit to Egypt, during which he will meet with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
 
He is also set to visit the headquarters of the League of Arab States, where he will meet the Secretary-General of the League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
 
For his part, el-Sisi stated that “Lebanon needs political agreement.”
 
He stressed that they will support Lebanon at all levels, and directed the relevant ministries “to take care of all Lebanon's demands and meet them in accordance with available capabilities.”
 
 
 
Later during the day, Egyptian President received Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Federal Palace in Cairo, in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
 

They discussed the Lebanese-Egyptian relations and the situation in the region over the course of an hour and a quarter.

 

Mikati later visited the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, where he was received by the League's Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in the presence of an official delegation.

 

The Lebanese Ambassador to Egypt Ali al-Halabi and the diplomatic advisor to President Mikati Ambassador Boutros Asaker were also present
