Minister of Telecommunications Corm says telecommunications sector may collapse
Minister of Telecommunications Johnny Corm indicated on Sunday that telecommunications sector is at risk of collapsing owing to fuel shortage, lack of credits, as well as service for users.

He pointed out that “Tripoli Central and a several other centrals has stopped due to diesel shortage,” warning against “a gradual interruption of telecommunication and internet in the upcoming hours and days on all Lebanese territories.”

“Opening an additional credit for Ogero at a value of LBP 350 billion must be done, after it was approved by Parliament,” the Minister highlighted.

Corm then called on the President of the Republic “to urgently sign for the credit so that Ogero can meet its needs, otherwise telecom services, including the internet will collapse.”

Later in the day, General Director of Lebanon's Ogero Telecom Imad Kreidieh tweeted that he was informed by Director-General of the presidency Antoine Choucair that President Aoun signed the law to open additional credit for Ogero, adding that “it will be issued on Monday.”
