Geagea wonders why Aoun approved STL funding in 2009

The Head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea underscored the importance of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) cooperation protocol.

“What troubles me is that the head of the Change and Reform bloc did not oppose the STL funding back in 2009, when the government was one of national unity”, Geagea said on Wednesday.

Geagea urged the cabinet to warn the Syrian regime against repeating the incident of the two Syrian tanks that entered Lebanese territories.

Syrian tanks entered the Bekaa border area of Arsal and fired in the direction of an abandoned batteries factory Tuesday, thinking that armed men were hidden inside of it.

Geagea slammed the infiltration of Syrian military vehicles into the Lebanese territories of Arsal frontiers.

“Lebanon is not a loose land to be infiltrated by the Syrian regime”, Geagea said, adding “Syrian troops cannot be allowed to raid Lebanese homes for no apparent reason. This is a sheer military operation.”
