Out of 176 countries, Lebanon ranked 128th in the Corruption Perception Index for the year 2012. Only Syria, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, Sudan and Somalia have worse rankings in the area.

The Lebanese Transparency Organization announced on Wednesday the results from the UNESCO Palace simultaneously with other chapters of the Transparency International.

This year, Lebanon scored 30 over 100, a score lower than the world average which is 43 meaning that Lebanon is among the 50 most corrupted countries in the world.
