ESCWA to permanently close office in Beirut

An-Nahar daily quoted on Friday U.N. Special Coordinator Michael Williams, whose mandate has recently expired, as saying that the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) decided to permanently close office in downtown, Beirut, due to “reliable reports of security threats” to target the international organization.
