Smuggling of cannabis to a European country thwarted

Information about an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotic substances hidden in a professional and camouflaged manner inside a decorated wooden panel to a European country was available to this office as part of the work carried out by the Internal Security Forces Central Anti-Narcotics Office in the Judicial Police Unit to combat drug smuggling operations.

Officers determined the location of the parcel in one of the postal companies on 4/27/2022, as a result of intensive investigations, and it was seized.

When the parcel was opened, 5 kg of cannabis was discovered inside.

As a result, and after consulting with the regional anti-narcotics office in Zahle, one of those involved in the operation was apprehended:
- He is identified only by his initials as: Th. C. (born in 2000, Syrian), who turned out to be the sender of the parcel.

The investigation is still ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and efforts are being made to apprehend all those involved.
