Introduction to the evening news 14-12-2012

The Syrian week came to an end in light of diplomatic confusion surrounding the Russia’s stance on President Bashar Assad.

Between yesterday's confirmation and today's denial, it seems that uncertainty was more or less intentional with the purpose of knowing the reactions of different countries.

While the Russian Diplomat was ambiguous, Washington seemed to be more assertive when it signed an order on Friday to send two Patriot missile batteries to Turkey along with 400 American personnel to operate them.

The Egyptian week has also ended with violent demonstrations between supporters and opponents of President Morsi on the backdrop of the constitutional referendum.

As for Lebanon, the week ended without any changes regarding the electoral law and March14's boycott to the Cabinet.

Instead, two security events marked this week; a brutal crime committed by a Van driver, and the death sentence of Myriam Achkar's murderer.
