Layyoun: Mikati’s stance on STL funding does not reflect that of the cabinet
Culture Minister Gaby Layyoun said Saturday that PM Najib Mikati’s official stance on the STL funding does not reflect that of the entire cabinet, stressing that “the Change and Reform bloc is opposed to funding the tribunal on the grounds that it was established with no legal justification.”

Asked about the divisive electoral issue, Layyoun told Voice of Lebanon that the Change and Reform bloc endorses an electoral law based on proportional representation.

Commenting on the events in Syria, Layyoun said “Lebanon should have voted against the international resolution condemning Syria instead of abstaining from voting.”
