The visit of US Senior Advisor for Global Energy Security Amos Hochstein broke the deadlock in Lebanon.
Hochstein, who is expected to convey to the Lebanese side the Israeli position on the latest proposal, began his visit by meeting Caretaker Energy Minister Walid Fayad.
Later in the day, Director General of General Security Major General Abbas Ibrahim received Hochstein in the presence of US Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea, whereby they discussed the recent developments in the maritime border demarcation file.
Hochstein then met with Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun, and also discussed the latest on the maritime border demarcation file.
For his part, the Army Commander reiterated the military institution's commitment to any decision taken by the political authority in this regard, hoping that the negotiations would reach the desired results for the interest of Lebanon.
