Cardinal Sfeir: Rai knows what he is doing

The Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir said that until today Lebanon has preserved its democratic system amid the ongoing turmoil in the region, call on religions to cooperation to prevent any domination from any sect.

Nasrallah in an interview with “Voice of Lebanon” radio station said that no religion in Lebanon should seek external help as no one is threatened especially not the Christians as they live among their brothers in the region. “The Christians are only protected by laws and regulations; they seek no help from anyone and can protect themselves alone”.

Asked about the stances of Maronite Patriarch Bshara Rai Sfeir said “ I am no longer a Patriarch and I do not comment on Rai’s stances as he knows exactly what should be done to preserve Christians presence in the Middle East”.
