Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea reiterated March 14’s insistence that parliamentary elections be held on time and that the current “unfair” electoral law be changed.       

Geagea told Nharkom Said on Sunday that the Taif agreement is marred by many loopholes, one of which is related to the elections law. “We must change this law to fill in this loophole and achieve equal representation for all,” he said.       

On communication channels with Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Rai over the electoral law, Geagea stressed that talks and consultations are underway.
     
On March 14’s boycott of national dialogue and parliamentary committees’ sessions, Geagea said that it is a form of condemnation of the status quo, adding that the killing machine cannot continue unabated.        

Commenting on MP Walid Jumblatt’s statement that March 14 is overreacting as for the security threats to March 14 leaders, he said “we are not overreacting; why did Jumblatt stay in Mukhtara during the fall and winter if there were no serious threats?”
