5 suspects sentenced to death for assassinating Hezbollah official

Military Investigative Judge Imad Zein issued an indictment on Thursday in which he condemned 5 suspects to death, among them one Egyptian national and two fugitives.

They are accused of assassinating Hezbollah official Ghaleb Awali by planting his car with explosive materials on the 19th of July 2004, conducting terrorist operations and conspiring with Israel.

Zein issued arrest warrants against the five and referred them to the Military Court.

Three of the suspects are already arrested while two remain on the hunt.
