Geagea: We support the Orthodox Gathering’s law proposal, should the other party adopt it

LF Chief Samir Geagea said on Monday in a press conference that the Lebanese Forces were among those who supported the Orthodox Gathering’s law proposal, since the current law does not ensure fair representation.

If the allies of the Free Patriotic Movement do not agree on the Orthodox Gathering's proposal, then we should follow the smaller districts electoral law.

Geagea added that if the sub-parliamentary committee does not agree on an electoral law, then Speaker Nabih Berri should call for a General Authority session to vote on a new law.

“We reject postponing the elections, and we will not hold them on the 1960’s electoral law,” he added.

“As March 14, we have various points of view related to the electoral law, but we all agree on the smaller districts law,” he concluded.
