Ogero: Internet speed increased in North and South

Lebanon’s telephone land-line provider Ogero said that starting from Wednesday morning, it will increase the high-speed Internet (DSL) with a minimum of 1 mb download speeds in Northern Lebanon for all subscribers at the telephone exchanges in Tripoli – Behsas, Tripoli – Al Tal, Tripoli – El-Mina, Tripoli – Bab al-Tebbaneh, Halba, Amioun, Zgharta, and in the South for all the subscribers at Sidon exchanges and Tyr exchanges.

Ogero explained that this step was taken after receiving the equipment it needed to deliver satisfactory DSL broadband services.

Ogero’s IT directorate installed and activated the technical equipment following “extensive day and night efforts” since last Saturday.

Ogero said other areas across Lebanon would gradually receive fast broadband services, as soon as it receives the necessary equipment.

“The ministry of Telecommunications is making sure the equipment is delivered to us, providing us with enough liquidity, especially given that we are suffering from a lack of funding since July 2010”, Ogero said.
