Berri: The Orthodox Gathering proposal "buried" the 60's law

Following the periodical meeting of the Development and Liberation parliamentary bloc on Wednesday, MP Nawar al-Sahili quoted Speaker Nabih Berri as saying that the electoral law proposed by the Orthodox Gathering “buried” the 60’s law.

Deputies also quoted the Speaker as saying that he is positive regarding the meetings of the sub-committee tasked with discussing the electoral law.

Deputies added that Speaker Berri considers that the best electoral law is that which would be agreed upon by all Lebanese parties and mentioned that he is exerting assiduous efforts in this regard.

Earlier, Berri met with the Change and Reform Bloc MP Simon Abi Ramia.

He also met with the Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister, Torgeir Larsen and discussed with him the current general situation and the most recent developments in Lebanon.
