Largest prison break attempt foiled at Roumieh prison

The security forces and prison guards foiled what could have been the largest prison escape from Roumieh after some inmates tied four 17 meters long ropes and dangled them from the surveillance tower of the prison.

The inmates swung the ropes from the exterior walls of the prison to the ground, the National News Agency reported.

The prisoners also cut some of the iron bars which connect the prison building with the surveillance tower.
