Mufti Qabbani: He who agrees on legislating civil marriage is an apostate

Grand Mufti Mohammad Rachid Qabbani said on Monday that all Muslim officials who agree on the legislation of civil marriage in Lebanon are to be considered "against the faith".

During a press conference, Qabbani said that bringing down the law of civil marriage is not a choice, but a duty required of every Muslim and an obligation on all Muslim scholars in Lebanon from all Islamic sects.
