Khoury: STL funding issue is most hazardous for cabinet

Environment Minister Nazem Khoury said that the dialogue freeze is not President Michel Sleiman’s fault, but that of the country’s politicians. “It would be wrong to boycott the dialogue or to consider that the President participated in toppling former PM Saad Hariri’s government.

Khoury told “Lobnan al Horr” radio that the STL is here to stay, adding that Hezbollah cannot be against the STL funding. “Not funding the STL will not halt its course”, he said.
“In case the funding process is aborted, sanctions will target all the Lebanese”, Khoury said, expecting that the funding issue will be deferred for as long as possible. He assured that the STL funding issue is the most hazardous for the cabinet, adding that Hezbollah will not tolerate it.

Khoury said that president Sleiman held a meeting to discuss the Syrian violations of the Lebanese border. He assigned Interior Minister Marwan Charbel to deal with the issue.
