Berri: The current situation requires agreement from all sides

Following the Wednesday periodical meeting MPs quoted speaker Nabih Berri as saying that Lebanon is passing through tumultuous times that require an agreement from all sides.

In this context, Berri expressed his worry for targeting the institutions and hoped for finding a consensual electoral formula.

The Speaker pointed out at the suggestion presented by the Future Bloc which aims at amending the constitution and said that this issue may only be settled, according to the constitution, in the second half of March.

Deputies also quoted the speaker as saying that he referred the electoral suggestion of the Future bloc to the Cabinet as a prelude for its referral to the joint committees.
